Leading classical ensemble provides Mother’s Day treat
Emerging internationally as a leading flute, cello and piano ensemble, the Marsyas Trio was formed by three alumnae of the Royal Academy of Music, London.
Australian flautist Helen Vidovich, Canadian cellist Valerie Welbanks and pianist Fei Ren from New Zealand met as postgraduate students and have been performing as a trio across the UK and abroad since 2009.

Hide AdConcert venues include the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Lake District Summer Music Festival in the UK, and the National Portrait Gallery, St Martin-in-the-Fields, and St James’ Piccadilly in London.
The trio has appeared on Bulgarian National Television and Classic FM and was recorded by the Bulgarian National Radio.
More recently, the trio completed a seven-concert tour in China for the Huihuang agency and a UK West Country tour for Concerts in the West.
Studies have previously been undertaken with members of the Chilingirian and Skampa Quartets, chamber musician Carol Presland, Michael Cox of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and at the Chamber Studio at King’s Place, London.
