Almost ten months into the coronavirus pandemic, Sussex has seen its cases rise and fall dramatically. While the first wave over the summer did not hit our county as hard as other areas in the country, a new, more contagious variant of the virus originating in the South East over the winter saw cases skyrocket. Nowhere has there been a more stark contrast than Hastings, which boasted one of the lowest infection rates in the country over the summer and one of the highest over the winter.
