Rother councillors gave Churches Together their blessing for the event at their cabinet meeting on Monday, providing police and fire officers are satisfied with health and safety arrangements and Rother's licensing panel approves the entertainment licence application on May 7.

Hide AdOn the Saturday, there would be a music festival starting in the afternoon and running until 9pm, featuring local bands performing on a stand and finishing with a set by a professional Christian band.
It is suggested that there would be an entrance charge of 5.
On the Sunday two religious services are planned for 11am and 3pm, with scope for visitors to picnic at lunchtime. The festival would end at 6pm.
A smaller festival event run by Churches Together was held at Egerton Park last year.
