Exceptional textile talents earn artist gold medal
Jane will receive the City and Guilds Gold Medal for Excellence, which means she is shortlisted for one of nine national Lion Awards.
She has just completed the diploma in stitched textiles (embroidery) at Missenden Abbey in Buckinghamshire.

Hide AdTutor Janet Edmonds, who nominated Jane, said: “Jane’s work is consistently accomplished and impeccably presented.
“Jane has a fascination with materials and technology, which needed careful consideration involving thorough research of materials and problem-solving relevant to the design.
“Jane has shown total commitment to the course. She inspires the rest of the group with her hard work, commitment to the task, and sharing of knowledge.”
The awards ceremony is in London on June 5, when The People’s Choice Lion Award will be presented to the winner of the vote at Lion Award

Hide AdJane said: “This has been a wonderful three years of artistic excitement and creative challenge.
“I developed an interest in combining stitched textiles and technology, which I was able to explore in some of my finished pieces.”
