A new series of events is set to be held at The Lamb Inn in West Wittering, hosted by Home Instead Senior Care. The first event takes place on Thursday, March 30 from 3-5pm and is free for any elderly person to attend with or without their family or carer. Simon McGee, owner of the local Home Instead office, is passionate about helping people living with dementia and their families. He wants to offer families and those living with this disease somewhere to socialise in an informal setting, somewhere everyone will feel comfortable. The first event will have a vintage theme featuring singer Becki Short performing classic songs from the WWII period. Future events will include music and the arts. Simon said: “We are very excited about the launch and already have a lot of interest from local people. The café provides an opportunity for anyone with memory loss or dementia, their carers, friends and family members, and others just looking for company, to come to meet and relax. “There’s no pressure to do anything here. Anything that stimulates the senses is good for the soul. Our aim is to make sure people relax and have fun. That’s it.” Experienced staff will be on hand to provide support.
