Nursing home residents evacuated after fire
Because of the cold, they were led to safety in another part of the building rather than going outside.
The occupant was taken from her room to the Conquest Hospital by ambulance suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
The fire broke out at about 10am on Sunday.

Hide AdTwo Bexhill fire crews plus a third from Hastings under Watch Commander Andy Upton managed to contain the fire to the bedroom. The room was badly damaged by fire and a positive-pressure ventilator had to be used to clear smoke from part of the building.
The East Sussex Fire and Rescue aerial ladder platform was brought from Hastings to lift firefighting equipment to the second floor.
Firefighters were at the scene for three hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
