LETTER: Disappointed by radio changes

Here in Sussex for the past few years we had Smile Sussex, a truly wonderful independent radio station, and which played nothing but my kind of music 24/7.
That is, easy listening instrumentals, light jazz, and Sinatra-Ella type popular music, all mainly from the 1940s and 50s.

Apart from an occasional station ID announcement, there were no other interruptions.
That is, no DJs, no time checks, no news bulletins, no weather forecasts, no traffic announcements - no other speech at all!
Yes, nothing but wall to wall music to have in the background, or to identify
the song titles, or sing along with.

Smile Sussex is still available in its previous form, but only online.
And, who wants to listen to music through their computer when maybe needing to use it for other purposes anyway?
Apart from anything else, it’s just not the same, is it?
So, this previous avid listener isn’t smiling so much anymore, at least not when listening to the radio in Sussex!
