Junior green finger is crowned at Newbridge
Over the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April, any child who visited Newbridge was able to pot up their very own spring bedding plug plant.
In addition to this, each child was also given instructions on how to care for their plant as it grew. Over 80 children took part and all those who brought their plant back for judging received a goody bag.

Hide AdGeorgia, age 11 who attends Heron Way Primary School in Horsham received some miniature gardening tools as well as her very own starter greenhouse.
Nigel Wait, Managing Director of Newbridge Nurseries, commented: “I was over the moon that so many children got involved in this competition. It is so important to get children outdoors and into the garden, particularly as gardening is an activity that the whole family can take part in together.
“At Newbridge, we like to do things properly and this competition allowed us to teach the younger generation some key skills.
“I was very impressed with all the entries but Georgia’s really did stand out as being an exceptionally nurtured plan,” he continued. “On behalf of everyone at Newbridge, I would like to congratulate Georgia on this achievement.”

Hide AdGeorgia commented: “I was really pleased when I was told that I had won. I really enjoy getting out into the garden with my Granddad and it was interesting to watch my petunia grow.
“I can’t wait to start using the tools that Newbridge has given to me, they are the perfect size. I’m looking forward to putting my greenhouse up too.”
