Indeed, I was born there and my beloved is a current resident. However, on a recent visit, I was alarmed to witness a distressing incident involving two ladies of a certain age.
While they were cycling north from Shoreham station – myself driving past by means of a motor car – I noticed that their undergarments were unusually on display. This was not in a deliberate fashion that the young young people often turm themselves out, but in what appeared to be an accidental manner.

I humbly request I be permitted to use the pages of your newspaper to alert the bladies of the town, both young and old, to the dangers of cycling while wearing a short dress.
The effect it can have on more sensitive members od society cannot be understated. My beloved almost had to pull over and stop the car, but for the risk of seeing such a sight had to remain calm until we arrived home.
I am advised that there are shops which sell ‘cycling shorts’ espacially made for that purpose.
