Haywards Heath pre-school’s garden redone from company sponsorships
St Paul’s Pre-School in Hazelgrove Road said having a good outside learning environment was ‘vital’, especially as several children attending the pre-school had no access to gardens at home.
Sussex Landscaping and Groundworks, Travis Perkins and Dulux offered to sponsor the work when approached for quotes.

“Matt Mackay, Andrew Griffiths and Patrick Lake, parents and a grandparent of children who attend St Paul’s Pre-School completed repairs to existing woodwork and gave everything a fresh lick of paint. Rob Dawe from Sussex Landscaping and Groundworks told us the companies had decided that they wanted to sponsor the work as an acknowledgement of the difficult times caused by Covid and the service that nurseries such as St Paul’s have continued to provide.
“The children have loved their new space and have already planted a herb garden and enjoyed excavating in the dig beds.
“Currently when children’s metal health and wellbeing are at the forefront of everyone’s minds, acts of generosity like these go a long way to create enabling environments for children to feel safe and thrive.”
