The Lightship ‘Greta’, piloted by a crew from Extinction Rebellion Brighton, passed through Horsham during its voyage from the coast to London.
The vessel set off from Brighton on August 30, stopping off in various locations along the way – including Henfield, Horsham, Crawley, Redhill, Sutton, Vauxhall and Hackney, before arriving in the capital later this week.

Hide AdGreta dropped anchor in Collyer’s car park last night (August 31) at about 7pm before setting sail at 10am this morning, Exctinction Rebellion coordination team member Mark Francis told the County Times.
He said the ship passed Horsham station on its voyage, which aims to raise awareness of the climate emergency.
It came in via St Leonards Rd, and then passed Millais school on its way to the station.
He added: “Extinction Rebellion were very grateful to both police and the new principal of Collyers Dan Lodge who were accommodating, and interested to hear about the background to Greta’s voyage.

The Lightship Greta is named after climate activist, Greta Thunberg.
It is the combination of a ship and a lighthouse and is handmade and hand-powered, with the words ‘Sound the alarm – Climate Emergency’ on her side, Extinction Rebellion said. The crew will be covering about 10 miles a day, and will engage with local people about the climate and ecological emergency.
