BOWLS: Grattons quartet are top rink for jubilant Sussex
They then went to Preston Park for the Sussex Past Presidents match and Grattons were again on the winning side.
The ladies team played Eastbourne and District IBC at Eastbourne.

Hide AdGrattons got off to a bad start, but played much better after tea, winning two rinks and drawing a third.
The result was a close win for Eastbourne, 122-100. Grattons top rink was Sue Gisby, Elizabeth Robinson, Janet Clark and Pam Cannon.
They also played against Wey Valley, at Guildford. Everyone enjoyed a good afternoon bowling in a very friendly atmosphere. Wey Valley were the eventual winners 113-106. Grattons’ top rink was K. Farrow, Shirley Dormer, Maureen Cranfield and June Marchant.
Grattons Mixed team beat West Hoathly 112-104 in a see-sawing game. Their top rink was Jackie Cousins, Roger Somers, Carol Spenceley and Clive Keay. They also played Redhill club Doynings, narrowly losing 117-106. Captain Ray said: “The game was played in a very friendly spirit, from the laughter on the rinks it was clear that the game greatly was enjoyed by everyone.”

Hide AdThe top rink was Hazel Copsey, Mike Hopwood, Liz Toop and Dave Beard. The Men’s team played Langney Sports (Eastbourne). Captain Kim said: “Playing at Langney is always a tough match as the mat is very difficult to get to grips with. Despite this they won by 36 shots.
