CRAWLEY band The Critical are getting set to make an album after winning an online competition.
Ollie Benn (singer), Chris Couchie (guitar), Paul Girling (bass) and Gavin O'Driscoll (drums) popped into the Crawley Observer office for an exclusive video interview last week about their plans.

The band, all from the Crawley area, have been together for 18 months.

They have a range of influences from Radiohead to the Pigeon Dectectives, but their distinctive catchy melodies are difficult to put into any genre.

Earlier this year they beat off competition from hundreds of bands around the world to win best unsigned act on www.slicethepie.com where members of the public could vote for their favourite band.

The winning prize includes £15,000 to make an album, which is expected to be released online in January next year.

All four members performed at last year's Oxjam event in October and are currently trying to recruit a producer for their album.
