PUPILS at Thomas Bennett got a bit more drama than they'd bargained for when a theatrical smoke machine set off the fire alarms.
The students were swiftly evacuated as fire crews attended the scene.

Deputy Head Marcus Priestley said: "The drama department were testing out a smoke machine and it set off the alarms.
"I suppose creating drama is what they do.

"Because we were able to identify the cause fairly quickly we were able to give the all clear fairly quickly.

"Our smoke detectors are very sensitive, I suppose they discovered the smoke machine was a little more dramatic than they thought it would be."
