Tributes to campaigning former Worthing councillor

DAVID HILL, formerly one of Worthing's most prominent councillors for nearly 30 years, died in Worthing Hospital, aged 82.

Mr Hill, who was mayor in the Queen's silver jubilee year, 1977, was first elected to the former town council in 1962, and was a member of the borough council from June, 1973, to May, 1991, becoming one of Worthing's honorary aldermen in June of that year.

As a Worthing councillor, Mr Hill represented the Conservatives, Liberals and Ratepayers association at various times.
