CRAWLEY Town co-owner John Duly has spoken to the Crawley Observer for the first time about his part in the takeover.
Speaking to us on video, Duly explained he had just 40 minutes to make a decision on whether to save the club.

On Monday afternoon, the club unveiled the new owners which included two of the members of the consortium Prospect Estate Holdings Limited, Vic Marley and local hairdresser Phil Jarman.

The other consortium member, Tom Scott, was unable to attend after recently undergoing back surgery.

John Duly wiped away £208,000 owed to him by the SA Group on April 1, handing over an 80 percent share to the consortium and keeping a 20 percent stake for himself in the club.

He said he will only have a back seat position at the club and would act in an advisory role to the board.

Also, unveiled to the press were two new directors. They were Steve Mansell of local business Mansell Recruitment Ltd and Susan Carter of Gatwick company WTS which deals in freight logistics.

Read this Wednesday's Observer for full coverage of the press conference.
